How did you meet?

Like many couples, Tim and I matched on Hinge. However, unlike many couples, he never asked me out on a date. On a random Saturday, we both happened to be in the little town of Dunedin, FL, 45 minutes away from both of our houses, with our friends. When we realized we were both in Dunedin, we decided to meet up along with our friends at my favorite Mexican restaurant. Over queso and margaritas, Tim and I hit it off! Fast forward 15 months - Tim proposed to me on the hillside in Florence, Italy during sunset on the first night of our trip. He had even hired a photographer for the proposal which was a big surprise! We were able to spend the rest of our trip in Italy celebrating our new engagement!

What made you choose Scout and Grace Events as your wedding planner?

Our venue, Laurel Ridge Country Club, highly recommended Scout and Grace. We wanted someone knowledgeable about the area and vendors especially since we lived out of state. After my initial call with Miriam, I knew we would choose Scout and Grace as our wedding planner! Miriam was so friendly and listened intently to what I wanted in a wedding.

Tell us about your venue.

Laurel Ridge Country Club in Waynesville, NC. We wanted our venue to be in the mountains and have a beautiful outdoor ceremony spot and indoor reception room. Laurel Ridge was beautiful! The floor to ceiling windows inside with the mountain view was gorgeous. My husband is a big golfer, so having pictures on the golf course was also great. He was even able to play golf there the week of our wedding. We loved the rustic vibe inside, I couldn't have asked for a better venue!

What was your wedding vibe?

Fun! We wanted all of our guests to be on the dance floor (which they were) and have our reception feel like a big party (which it was)!

How was your wedding personalized by Scout and Grace Events?

Growing up, I had a big teddy bear collection and kept the most meaningful teddy bears into adulthood. We had my original teddy bear dressed up and at the reception! The pictures of our guests with him were great. We also had cocktail napkins (designed by Scout and Grace) that said "drinks on me" with a teddy bear. We loved those! A couple months before our wedding, we rescued a cat, Whiskers. Erin at Scout & Grace, named one of our cocktails "Whisker's Moscow Meowle" which we loved and thought was so clever!

What was an unexpected wedding day moment?

It started raining during our first look pictures. Our photographer had a cute umbrella, but it soon started to downpour. I had to jump on the golf cart in my dress/shoes and drive to safety! I honestly love having the memory!

What was your favorite part about working with Scout and Grace Events?

Scout & Grace are just amazing people to be around. They are incredibly helpful, patient and creative! I could have never designed the amazing wedding they put together for us.

What wedding advice would you give to newly engaged couples?

Don't stress! The team at Scout & Grace think of everything and will take care of you. Enjoy the whole entire process! (and hire Scout & Grace)
